Wal-Mart Freebies

I usually do not do very good with coupon savings at Wal-Mart because they do not double. Also, they are not usually very coupon friendly so I try not to even shop there, but yesterday I thought, let me just give it a try and see what I can get FREE or cheap at Wal-Mart. I was in the mood for some Freebies! Including tax, I ended up with $125.69 worth of stuff for $25.33! This is how I did it...

(C = Coupon; E = Each)
6 packages of Borden Sensations Sliced Cheese $1.88 minus $1 C = $0.88 E or all 6 for $5.28
6 Chinet Lunch Paper Plates $2.54 minus $2C = $0.54 E or all for $3.24
5 packs of 3 packs Wrigley's or Extra Gum $1.50 minus $1C = $0.50 E or all for $2.50
2 Kraft Cream Cheese Spread $1.78 minus $1C = $0.78 E or all for $1.56
6 Hageen Daz Tiny Containers of Ice Cream $1.21 minus $1C = $0.21 E or all for $1.26
Joly Rancher Blue Raspberry Ice Cream Topping Clearance $0.50
Joly Rancher Green Apple Ice Cream Topping Clearance $0.50
Glade Soy Candle $3.50 minus $3C = $0.50
4 LaCross Emery Boards $0.97 minus $1C = overage of $0.03 or all for negative $0.12
4 Head and Shoulders trial size Shampoo $0.97 minus $1C = overage of $0.03 or all for negative $0.12
3 Johnson and Johnson Mini First Aid Kits $0.97 minus $1C = overage of $0.03 or all for negative $0.09
3 Taster's Choice Sticks $0.98 minus $1C = overage of $0.02 or all for negative $0.06
4 Kotex 16 count Mini Packs of Pads $1 minus $1C = all FREE
Carefree Mini Pack of Pantie Liners $1 minus $1C = FREE
6 Glade 2 oz Soy Candles $2.97 minus FREE Item Coupon from the Regular Sunday Paper = FREE
Jack Links Flamin Buffalo Jerky $7.72 minus FREE Item Coupon from Last Months Issue of All You Magazine = FREE
Afrin 12 Hour Nasal Spray $6.14 minus FREE Item Coupon from the Mail, I Really Do Not Know Why I Got This Coupon, It Just Showed Up One Day = FREE
Spot Shot $3.54 minus FREE Item Coupon for Calling the Company and Asking for Coupons = FREE
WD-40 $3.27 minus FREE Item Coupon for Calling the Company and Asking for Coupons = FREE
2 Starbucks Ice Cream $3 minus FREE Item Coupon from a Facebook Post Starbucks had Last Month = FREE
Otis Spunkmeyer Chocolate Chocolate Chip Muffins $2.87 minus FREE Item Coupon for calling the Company and Complimenting their Product = FREE

If the coupon does not say "excludes trial size" you can use that coupon on the trial size and most of the time get that item FREE. The Head & Shoulders Shampoo and the Kotex Pads I purchased were trial sizes and ended up being FREE.

Call or e-mail companies to tell them how much you like or dislike their product and they will, 9 times out of ten send you coupons to use on their products. That is how I got most of my FREE Coupons. I found this blog http://couponingtodisney.blogspot.com/search/label/5%20A%20Day that pretty much teaches you the tricks on this, so hopefully my mailbox will start filling up with coupons. I just found this blog on Wednesday. Yesterday, I already had two coupons from Bush's Baked Beans. Not freebies, but that's OK, I will definitely use them because Bush's Baked Beans rarely puts out coupons.

Captain D's Club

You must sign up for the Captain D's Club. They will e-mail you a certificate for a FREE 2 piece fish or chicken dinner. I used that certificate the week before last. This week I got a certificate for a Buy One Get One FREE platter. Don and I used that yesterday. We ordered two Deluxe Seafood Platters and 4 small drinks. Isabella had a friend with her, Kathleen was not with us. These two platters were plenty for the four of us. So, we had a good lunch for only $15.16 which in my opinion we could not have had at McDonald's.

I have gotten numerous of these $10 reward certificates. I had two yesterday that I had been saving. The good thing about these certificates is they do not expire for months and months after they have been mailed out so you can save them up. They have a special going at Build-A-Bear right now where you can purchase ANY animal, ANY hanging outfit and ANY pair of shoes for $29.99. Isabella decided this is what she wanted to do, so after the two certificates, our total was only $12.69. I do not know if you have ever been to Build-A-Bear, but if you have, you know that I came out GREAT spending only $12.69 for a bear, an outfit and shoes!

My Walgreen's Shopping Trip for Don

I went to Walgreen's this afternoon to pick up my FREE scrapbook page and all of the other picture orders I have placed this week. I can't just go into Walgreen's, go straight to the photo department and leave. That would just be wrong, so I picked up my pictures and wandered around the store. I ran across one Gillette Fusion Power Razor on clearance from $14.99 to $2.89. I also found Tag Body Spray on clearance from $4.99 to $1.29. I purchased my pictures and went to the car to check my coupon box. I found a coupon that stated purchase a Fusion Razor, get Gillette Body Wash FREE. I found another coupon that was for $4 off any Fusion Razor Refills. I also found a coupon for FREE Gillette Shaving Cream when you purchase the Fusion Razor Refills. Then I found 4 coupons for $2 off any Tag Body Spray.

I spent $13.09 out of pocket, saved $44.68 and walked out of the store with $11 in Register Rewards to use on Future Purchases.

Fusion Razor - $2.89
Gillette Body Wash (Regular Price $4.99)- FREE for purchasing the Fusion Razor
Razor Refills (Regular Price $14.49) - $10.49 after $4 Coupon
Gillette Shaving Cream (Regular Price $4.29) - FREE for purchasing the Razor Refills
For buying a Fusion Razor along with a package of Refills, a $6 Register Reward printed.

4 Cans of Tag Body Spray (Regular Price $4.99) - I was paid $0.71 for each one I purchased!

Then a $5 Register Reward printed out because my total before coupons was $25.

The good news about this purchase is the Fusion Power Razor is the razor that Don actually uses. We do not use the Tag Body Spray, but how can you pass up being paid to take something out of the store? I will put $1 on them at the next yard sale and make $4.

I Saved 87% at Publix Today!!!

Always Keep your Eyes Open for Coupons - Sometimes You Find Them When You Least Expect Too

We went to the Jonas Brothers Concert last night in Birmingham, AL. There was an area where the kids could get their picture made with a picture of the Jonas Brothers and after they do that, they can color a crown. The line was a mile and a half long to do this when we first arrived. During the second act, Isabella decided she wanted to walk around a bit before her guys hit the stage. We walked straight up to this area. Noone was there at all. While she was making her crown, I was not believing that I found coupons at the concert! The coupons are laid out right in front of her in this picture. These coupons do not expire until 12/31/09 and they are: $1 off any Crayola Color Explosion Product; $1 off any Crayola Color Surge Product and 50 cents off any Crayola Outdoor Product. I got four of these fliers. Always keep your eyes open for coupons, sometimes you find them when you least expect too!!!

Betty Crocker Fruit Snacks Deal Alert at Winn Dixie

There is a really good deal on Betty Crocker Fruit Snacks at Winn Dixie this week. They are on sale for 4/$10. If you buy 4, you immediately get $4 off your purchase at the register with your Winn Dixie savings card. This brings your total down to 4/$6. There were coupons in last Sunday's paper for 40 cents off any Betty Crocker Fruit Snack. My Winn Dixe doubles coupons up to 50 cents, so this brought my total down to 4/$2.80. If your Winn Dixie does not double, your total would be 4/$4.40. When you buy 4, a coupon prints at the register for $2.50 off your next shopping order. If your store doubles, the next time you go through checkout and do this, your total will be 30 cents for all four boxes, if your store does not double, your total would be $1.90 for all four boxes. Either way, not a bad deal at all. These are a great snack for the kid's to take to school!

Winn Dixie Velveeta Shells & Cheese Cups Rolling Deal

Velveeta Cheese Cups at Winn Dixie are $1 each. There were coupons in last Sunday's paper for Buy One Get One Free. When you buy two of these at Winn Dixie a coupon prints out at the register to save $1 on your next purchase. You can do this again and again with as many coupons as you can find to get FREE cheese cups after your initial $1 purchase. This Winn Dixie deal runs through 9/7/09. These are actually really good. I take them to work for lunch occasionally.

$50 Gift Card with Transferred Prescription

Don bought a Shelby County Reporter Newspaper Thursday morning (Wednesday edition) for 25 cents. We never buy a Shelby County Reporter, but we must have been in the right place at the right time because that quarter Thursday morning turned into $50 tonight!!!

There was an small coupon stuck in the paper from Fred's in Columbiana, AL offering a $50 Fred's Giftcard for transferring a prescription. I had a prescription that I knew needed filled and was going to drive to Columbiana, 25 minutes away to use this coupon when it hit me that CVS matched Pharmacy coupons. I called CVS to verify this and ended up transferring my prescription from Walgreen's to CVS. I picked it up tonight, handed the pharmicist the coupon and had no trouble getting the $50 gift card. I also asked about Auto Refill. This was advertised this week in their ad. Just for asking about it, you got a $25 coupon book.

In this coupon book were 2 coupons for $4 off a $20 purchase. I know I will be using those!
The other coupons were:
$4 off any diet/nutrition purchase of $20 or more
$4 off any facial skin products purchase of $20 or more
$2 off any vitamin products purchase of $10 or more
$2 off any allergy products purchase of $10 or more
$2 off any oral care products purchase of $10 or more
$3 off any eye care products purchase of $12 or more
